On September 10th, as most of you know, Charlie Kirk was shot and killed at a campus event at Utah Valley University. I will not dwell on the details as I’m sure most of my audience is quite familiar with the situation. We all saw it. Publicly broadcasted to our phones. A man shot and killed for voicing his [moderate] opinion.
The free exchange of ideas is being threatened in this country. The radical left does not want to hear your reason or logic. They advocate for more death; more bloodshed. The bloodshed of their ideological counter parts. They have been advocating for this for a long time, it has only been recently that people have begun to act on the rhetoric.
As Catholics, we must fulfill our roles in the life of the political community (CCC 2239) and defend our nation from immoral dispositions that arise from things contrary to the teachings of Christ. Society functions best when judicial laws reflects moral truths. Many on the left will point to my previous sentence and accuse me of the unforgivable sin of embracing “Christian Nationalism” but, it is to this standard that we must raise up our nation. We ought to build up a society to reflect divine truths because if we do not attempt to do so, what is it that we truly stand upon? We must ostracize those who rejoice in the culture of death because we know that within such a culture, nothing good can truly thrive. We must, however, be sure to embrace the evangelical nature of the church as the Magisterium and Holy Scriptures instruct us to do; but this does not mean we allow vile ideology into our places of work or education. Those who embrace such ideology, oftentimes, cannot be reasoned with, unfortunately.
Here is what I am attempting to tell this small audience: we must be active in political discourse and uphold the ancient truths of our faith as the saints before us did. Charlie Kirk was executed in front of the nation because he held firm to moral truth. St. Thomas Moore was executed similarly because of his unwavering loyalty to divinely revealed truths and his opposition to secularization. On a more basic level, Iryna Zarutska was seemingly murdered with no other motive than she was a defenseless white woman. Decarlos Brown Jr was the individual behind this attack. Brown had previously been released on 14 prior occasions due to democrat lawmaker’s attempts to keep African Americans from incarceration in Mecklenburg County.
Young conservatives must rise up to oppose these injustices promulgated by the Radical left even in the face of social and physical destruction. What I am encouraging here is a peaceful, legal, and moral response which integrates and upholds the dignity of all humans. We must advocate within our communities.
Say no to genital mutilation.
Say no to racial favoritism.
Say no to Zionism.
Say no to Islam that has so rapidly infected the west.
While I would not encourage anyone reading to watch the video of Iryna’s murder or to watch the videos around the brutal killing of Charlie Kirk, if you have already seen them, let it motivate you to enact change. Get involved with your local young republican’s club or your local TPUSA chapter. Don’t just remain someone who simply complains with no action. Be change.
Moving forward, Sacramentally Speaking will attempt to put these principles into practice by writing more politically and culturally influenced material.
Ave Maria
