I was inspired to write a bit about the Eucharist in light of recent events taking place in the Archdiocese of Atlanta. A Holy Host was stolen from a Catholic Church and members of the satanic temple intend to desecrate it in front of a crowed of depraved, wicked degenerates in what they call a “Black Mass”. Pray for their souls and for the justice of God to be exorcised during this time.

Throughout my conversion from Protestantism, the true presence of Christ in the eucharist has been something that has tugged at my heart. Ever since I read an excerpt from St. Ignatius of Antioch’s Letter to the Philadelphians in which he says: “Take heed, then, to have but one Eucharist. For there is one flesh of our Lord Jesus Christ, and one cup to [show forth ] the unity of His blood; one altar; as there is one bishop, along with the presbytery and deacons, my fellow-servants: that so, whatsoever you do, you may do it according to [the will of] God.”
At the time I read this quote, I was in an Anglican Church, a church and tradition which I still love deeply, but a schismatic church non the less. I wanted what Catholicism had to offer but I did not want to make the leap in a direction that would harm relationships with friends and family. Also, on a selfish level, I truly didn’t want to submit that I had been wrong for so long. I remember praying on my apartment balcony early in the morning asking God to revel His truth and presence to me. “I already have” I heard Him gently respond. It was not an audible voice I heard but it was from God nonetheless. My mind started flooding with emotions because at that moment I realized I had been sacrificing the truth to remain comfortable. But Christ was faithful.
I had been praying for years for Him to direct me and He had been waiting for me down the street at my local parish. But not passively waiting; never passively. He was leading me to study His word. He was leading me despite my sin and my wretched heart. Now I’ve found him in the Blessed Sacrament. I speak with Him in adoration. I worship Him in Mass.
